at HPR record sale
So here's the spin. Hawaii Public Radio is presenting another "Almost New Record Sale" of "gently used" stereo equipment, CDs, cassettes, LPs, 78s and reel-to-reel tapes this month. The station's last sale was in the spring, and since then, HPR has amassed a large selection of donated items for it's fund-raising event.
The HPR member preview will be 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Kakaako and Kewalo rooms on the second floor of Ward Warehouse. Doors will be open to the public from 6 to 9 p.m. The sale will continue 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 29 and 30. A donation of $3 per person is requested at the door, and includes a free LP or two free cassettes.
Of note this year, according to HPR volunteer Mort Brown, is "a particularly rich selection of Hawaiiana and operatic recordings" in the "collectables" section of LPs.
