The program was made possible by a $5,000 grant from Nike.

It is open to 180 girls, ages 8-16. Capping it off will be a scrimmage with the UH Wahine at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Cost of the 10-week program is $70. There are scholarships available for the underprivileged.

Car wash for worthy cause

The camp is sponsored by the Reid J.K. Richards Foundation and supported by the Girl Scout Council of Hawaii, Kaiser Permanente and Borthwick Mortuary.

The third annual Build-PAC Hawaii tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the New Ewa Beach Golf Club. Players will be given the opportunity to have their cars washed by Building Industry Association of Hawaii president Audrey Hidano and her staff of volunteers.
