Ceedric Goodwyn scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half last night to lead Colorado State to a 61-57 victory over San Jose State in the championship game of the Pearl Harbor Invitational.

Goodwyn, voted the tournament's outstanding player, hit critical free throws down the stretch, but it was a 3-pointer by John Sivesand at the 5:10 mark that put the Rams (7-3) ahead for good.

Sivesand finished with 13 points and seven rebounds with Andy Birley also in double-figures with 10 points. Sivesand had three of the Rams' eight 3-pointers. San Jose State managed to go only 3-for-12 from long distance.

For the Spartans (7-5), a former partner with Colorado State in the Western Athletic Conference, were led by Billy Landram, who had 14 points. Darnell Williams had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

It was Colorado State 27-25 at the half with the lead changing hands 12 times with two ties over the first 10 minutes.

No. 18 UCLA 103, South Florida 98: The Bruins (6-2) ran and ran, but had to hustle to beat the Bulls (5-4) in overtime in the third-place game.

South Florida matched UCLA point for point, coming from 10 down with seven minutes left to force overtime.

Jerome Moiso scored five of his 20 points in the extra session for UCLA.

Earl Watson, who finished with 20 points, appeared to have the game-winner in regulation when he knocked down a 3-pointer to make it 88-85 with 17 seconds left. South Florida's B.B. Waldon, who led a 16-7 run in the final minutes, responded with his own 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining to force overtime.

Watson and Moiso finished with 20 points with Jason Kapono adding 17. For South Florida, Waldon had 23 and Cedric Smith 18.

Maine 77, BYU-Hawaii 66: Andy Bedard returned from the injured list to hit two big 3-pointers that helped Maine (7-3) hold off BYU-Hawaii (7-4) for fifth place.

David Evans finished with 28 points and nine rebounds for BYUH.

The Citadel 68, Florida A&M 60: Rod Shiver touched off a 14-1 run at the start of the second half to spark The Citadel (4-8) over Florida A&M (1-8) in the seventh place game.

Alan Puckett led The Citadel with 21 points with Mike Roy adding 10. For Florida A&M, Michael Shipp had 20.
