Four added
to Shoot-Out

Golfers Peter Jacobsen, Billy Andrade, Rocco Mediate and Fred Funk have been added to the field of the Johnny Bellinger Shoot-Out field next month at Waialae Country Club.

The four join Paul Azinger and Scott Simpson in the $25,000 event held in conjunction with the Sony Open in Hawaii 2000 golf tournament, Jan. 10-16. The Jan. 11 Shoot-Out is a six-hole, 10-golfer event that begins at 2:30 p.m.

YWCA program focuses on volleyball, leadership

Young women will be able to learn volleyball and leadership skills from Hawaii women's volleyball coach Dave Shoji and his Wahine players during the YWCA of Oahu's Great Beginnings for Girls program starting next month.

The 10-week program will be held on Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. at the YWCA Laniakea Center Gym on Richards Street beginning on Jan. 15. Girls ages 8-16 are eligible for the program which will finish with a scrimmage with the Wahine team at the Stan Sheriff Center.
