The city staged its annual electric light parade at 6 p.m. last night starting from the Beretania St. side of the Capitol, turning down Bishop St. and ending at City Hall via King St.

The parade featured several lighted floats punctuated by costumed Christmas carolers, a bagpipe unit, the Royal Hawaiian Band, marching bands from several high schools including Kahuku, Aiea, Farrington, Mililani, Waipahu and Castle.

Hawaiian Electric sponsored the Farrington
High School electric car racing team.

Kids lined the route waving to and collecting candy
from parade participants. The parade was capped
with a Santa Claus float.

The Castle High School marching band sprouted
antlers for the occasion.

Pokemon character Pikachu celebrates the millennium.

A proud daddy marches with one tiny reindeer.

A Board of Water Supply tanker urges all to
"Wish Upon a Rainbow" in lights.

Farrington's saxaphone section rocks to the beat of the drum.
