field on Big IslandThe Bearcats open the eight-team tournament tomorrow at noon against Cleveland State. Rhode Island plays Santa Clara at 2:30 p.m.; Arkansas takes on Mercer at 5 and host Hawaii-Hilo faces Iowa State at 7:30.
On the Santa Clara roster are two former Iolani standouts, freshmen Brad and Cord Anderson.
Play continues Saturday and winds up Sunday with the 4:30 p.m. championship game.
UH baseball signings
Shortstop Cortland Wilson and outfielder Tim Montgomery have signed letters of intent to play for the University of Hawaii baseball team for the 2001 season.They are the only players to commit to UH during the early signing period.
Wilson, a senior at Utah's Skyline High, was an honorable mention Collegiate Baseball prep All-American last season. Montgomery has batted over .325 the past two seasons at Eastlake High in Washington.
Football game shuttle
Roberts Hawaii is offering round-trip shuttle bus service to Saturday's football game between Hawaii and Washington State.The pick-up times for the East Honolulu shuttle are 4:30 p.m. (Koko Head Elementary), 4:45 p.m. (Hawaii Kai Park N Ride), and 5 p.m. (Bank of Hawaii, Kahala). Times for the Leeward shuttle are 4:30 p.m. (Waianae Pizza Hut), 4:45 p.m. (Nanakuli Napa Auto Parts) and 5 p.m. (Kapolei Theaters).

Waves sweep in tennis
The Pepperdine men's tennis team beat the University of Hawaii, 7-0, yesterday in the Rainbows' season opener at the UH courts. The Waves dropped just one set in six singles matches.
First female football tilt
The first all-women's tackle football game in Hawaii will pit the Hawaiian Wave of Oahu against the Kauai Thunder at 5 p.m. Saturday at Vidinha Stadium on Kauai.
Na Koa luncheon Monday
University of Hawaii assistant football coaches Rich Miano, George Lumpkin and Mike Cavanaugh will be the featured speakers at the weekly Na Koa Football club luncheon on Monday at the Waialae Country ClubThey will review Saturday's game against Washington State and discuss the upcoming Oahu Bowl game against Oregon State.
Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by the program at noon. The cost is $11.
