Iris Jackson, 88, led

Iris Jackson, 88, of Honolulu, who directed some local trade organizations, died Saturday at home.

In 1952, she became assistant manager for the Retail Merchants of Hawaii, Chamber of Commerce of Honolulu.

After retiring from the chamber in 1976, Jackson became executive director of the Hawaii Jewelers Association.

She has served on the boards of Goodwill Industries, the Funeral and Memorial Society of Hawaii, Meals on Wheels and the YWCA.

She was born in San Francisco. She is survived by son William, brother Albert Barbet and a granddaughter. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at Kailua United Methodist Church.


Severino de Leon Ancheta, 83, of Wahiawa, a field worker, truck driver and foreman for Dole Co., died Saturday in Wahiawa General Hospital. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by sons Bernardo and Roger; daughters Celestina Antonio and Sally Manungas; brothers Casamiro and Emeterio; sisters Bibiana Tabilin, Cayetana Macamos, Anatalia Dadia and Susana Corpuz; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Hattie K. Apele, 81, of Hilo, retired owner of the former Hattie's Beauty Shop, died Sunday at home. She was born in Honokaa, Hawaii. She is survived by son W. Michael; daughters Georgeanne N. Farias and Janie Silva; brothers Verden and Leslie Kim; sisters Ida Wong, Ethel DeVito and Gladys Wong, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Private services.

Bruce J. Bouchard, 48, of Honolulu died Nov. 11 in Wahiawa General Hospital. He was born in New Hampshire. He is survived by daughter Vanessa E.; parents Joseph and Genevieve; sisters Jenny A. Talari and Deborah A. Gelinas; and two grandchildren. Private services.

Jean K. Brown, 77, of Kahului, a retired investment clerk, died Wednesday in Maui Memorial Hospital. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y. She is survived by daughter Barbara Guest; sons Vincent, Patrick and Michael; and five grandchildren. Private services. Kathleen L.L.A. "Tita Girl" Brown, 42, of Waipahu died Nov. 4 in Waipahu. She is survived by husband Jerome; daughters Francesca Adams and Memory, Misty and Golden Brown; son Francisco Mahuka; sisters Paulette, Madelene and Corrine Adams and Joan Lee; brothers Jacob, Paul III, Andrew, Anthony, Daniel, Matthew and Alexander Adams; and five grandchildren. Max Waite, 72, of Honolulu, retired from Dow Chemical, died Nov. 12 in Honolulu. He was born in Clare, Mich. Leon S. Walker, 71, of Los Angeles, a retired civil service safety/health specialist and U.S. Air Force retiree, died Saturday in Lone Pine, Calif. He was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base and also worked at Kaena Point. He was born in Chicago. He is survived by wife Janice; sons Leonard and Bryan of Honolulu; daughters Janine W. Fairley of Honolulu, Lynda Walker and Leslie Fagan; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services on the mainland.

Cloyd E. Zeiders, 83, of Honolulu, a chief warrant officer retired from the U.S. Army, died Monday in Tripler Army Hospital. He was also head usher at the Fort DeRussy Chapel. He was born in Newport, Pa. He is survived by stepdaughter Nancy Bastian; caregivers Stanford and Jeanette; and grandchildren. Memorial services: 11 a.m. tomorrow at Fort DeRussy Chapel.
