Bowling concludes today
Lutheran's Shaye Okutani and Aiea's Ivan Miyasato are the leaders after the first day of the Hawaiian Airlines State Bowling championships at Lihue Lanes.Okutani has a pin total of 1,163 to top the girls' division while Miyasato has a total of 1,314.
The Hilo girls and Aiea boys top the team competition, which concludes today.
Na Koa speakers
University of Hawaii football coaches Greg McMackin and Dennis McKnight will speak at Monday's Na Koa Football Club meeting at the Waialae Country Club.Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program runs from noon to 1 p.m. Cost is $11 per person.
Tennis workshop on tap
The United States Professional Tennis Registry will conduct a tennis coaches workshop at the Honolulu Country Club on Nov. 21, from 8 a.m. to noon.The cost is $50. Space is limited and pre-registration recommended. Add $10 for on-site registration.

Soccer skills clinic
The Hawaii Surf Soccer Club is sponsoring a clinic, Soccer Skills for the New Millennium, Dec. 27-31 at Kapiolani Park.The clinic will be conducted by coaches John Judd and Joe Mathot of Coerver Coaching and Jason Mathot, a player for Top Oss in the Dutch first division.
The early registration fee (before Dec. 1) is $80 for players under 8 and $100 for players under 10 to 19 players. After Dec. 1, add $20.
A coaches session will be held Dec. 28 and 30, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kahala Recreation Center. The cost is $25.
