Sant’Anna is
Player of Week
in Pac West

Outside hitter Debbie Sant'Anna of Hawaii Pacific was named the Pacific West Conference volleyball Player of the Week yesterday.

Sant'Anna, a senior from Brazil, overcame nagging injuries to total 36 kills, 29 digs and seven service aces in two Pac West victories for HPU last week.

Her 20 kills and 18 digs at Hawaii-Hilo were personal and team bests this season for three-game matches.

With four matches left in the regular season, the Sea Warriors (19-2) are ranked second nationally, behind BYU-Hawaii (19-1), among NCAA Division II teams.

McPhillips longboard king

Californian Colin McPhillips won the Oxbow World Longboard Championship yesterday at Port Stephens, Australia, defeating Marcelo Freitas of Brazil in the final.

Hawaii's Bonga Perkins was beaten by Freitas in the semifinals.
