Her 20 kills and 18 digs at Hawaii-Hilo were personal and team bests this season for three-game matches.
With four matches left in the regular season, the Sea Warriors (19-2) are ranked second nationally, behind BYU-Hawaii (19-1), among NCAA Division II teams.
McPhillips longboard king
Californian Colin McPhillips won the Oxbow World Longboard Championship yesterday at Port Stephens, Australia, defeating Marcelo Freitas of Brazil in the final.Hawaii's Bonga Perkins was beaten by Freitas in the semifinals.
XTERRA titles on line
The fourth annual XTERRA World Championship - a 1.5-kilometer roughwater swim, 30-kilometer mountain bike ride and 11-kilometer trail run - will begin Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Outrigger Wailea Resort on Maui.Reigning world champions Ned Overend and Sue Latshaw will defend their men's and women's titles. Some 60 pro athletes will compete for an $82,000 purse in a total field of 350 from 32 states and 10 nations.
The purse includes the $50,000 Nissan Xterra Points Series payout, based on accumulated points aver the 10-race Tour series, plus double points for the championship.
Mountainman Triathlon
Triathletes will vie for individual and relay-team titles in the Pflueger Honda Mountainman Triathlon Sunday, Nov. 14, at Kualoa Ranch on Windward Oahu.The event, presented by Team Boca, begins at 8 a.m. with a 500-meter swim, followed by a 20-kilometer mountain bike and 5K trail run.
Entry fees are $50 per individual, $80 per relay team, if postmarked by Nov. 2. Late entry, including day of race, costs $55 and $85.
