Concert planned
for youth congress

A Youth Concert featuring Kapena, Brother Noland, Dita Holifield and more will have an international audience of more than 1,000 youth delegates representing 116 countries.

Other performers include Stir Crazy, Imua, Ben Vegas, Brother 2 Brother, Na Wai Ho'olu'u O Ke Anuenue and several dance troupes, with host Kala'i Miller.

The concert, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 23, will be among the highlights of the Millennium Young People's Congress taking place in Honolulu from Oct. 21 to 29.

The theme of the Congress, "One People, One Voice," symbolizes the goals of the 15- to 18-year old delegates as they meet with adult mentors and United Nations dignitaries at the Hawai'i Convention Center to address world issues.

The concert will take place on the beach fronting Hilton Hawaiian Village. Tickets are $15 for ages 12 and older. Children under 12 will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Tickets are available through Tickets Plus, 526-4400, and will be available at the concert site. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m.
