New date for
state title game

The title game of the Chevron State Football Championship has been moved from Dec. 3 to Dec. 4, at Aloha Stadium, it was announced yesterday by the Hawaii High School Athletic Association.

The eight-team tournament will begin Nov. 19, at three sites. The semifinals are set for Nov. 26, at Aloha Stadium.

Volleyball rescheduled

The women's volleyball matches between Chaminade and visiting Hawaii-Hilo have been rescheduled as a doubleheader Sunday at McCabe Gym starting at noon.

The matches originally were scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

UH sailors fare well

Hawaii's Rainbow Wahine sailing team took third place behind Stanford and USC in the Women's National Invite regatta at Stanford's Redwood City, Calif., Sailing Center.

Molly O'Bryan, Ursula Austin, Sarah Hitchcock, Monique Wanders and Melody Torres represented UH.

Meanwhile, UH's Steve Brown, Adam Corpuz-Lahn, John Sharkey and Terry Mott finished fifth, ninth, 10th and 14th, respectively, in the Pacific Coast International Yacht Racing Association Singlehanded Championships in Vallejo, Calif. USC sailors were 1-2.

Tennis entry deadline

Saturday is the entry deadline for the Oahu Tennis League's next season, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 18.

The league matches players at the various skill levels in six matches each over a six-week period. Dates, times and sites are arranged by the players by phone.
