Tans for export

Bill Ernst of Mililani spotted this tanning salon in Pensacola, Fla., a couple of weeks ago. "The sun was out and the temperature was about 95 degrees, so one wonders -- why do you need a tanning salon in Florida?" mused Ernst. Maybe only the Hawaiians need tans there.

The Search for Signs of Hawaiian Life in the Universe welcomes evidence of Hawaiiana everywhere but Hawaii. Send photos and descriptions to Today Department, Star-Bulletin, P.O. Box 3080, Honolulu, HI 96813, or e-mail JPEGS to features@starbulletin.com
