Blues great King to
perform in Honolulu

Legendary king of blues B.B. King will perform 8 p.m. Nov. 7 at Blaisdell Arena.

Tickets for the show will be available via mail-order coupon running in this section today.

At age 73, B.B. King still performs 225 days a year. Over the years, he has repeatedly demonstrated on record and on the stage that the blues is not just about sadness and pain. Influenced as much by the upbeat jump blues of Louis Jordan as by the rural style of Blind Lemon Jefferson, King and his guitar, Lucille, have shown people a good well-rounded time.

Said King, in an interview with the Daily Camera in Colorado, "I'm not doing it because I have to. I could have retired when I became 65."

Tickets are $30, $40 and $50. For more information, call the Blaisdell at 591-2211.
