More than 1,000 hula dancers from 30 halau gathered at Aloha
Tower yesterday afternoon in an attempt to break the world record
for the most simultaneous hula dancers. The dancers formed a
Lei of Aloha to mark the closing of Aloha Festivals week and
to mark the 73rd anniversary of the tower that embodies the
spirit of aloha. The number of dancers topped last year's 800.
