Waipahu over WaianaeNefu Mageo passed for 289 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more scores as Waipahu downed Waianae, 27-21, in Oahu Interscholastic Association football yesterday at the Seariders' field.
Mageo, who completed 17 of 34 passes, connected with Titipa Andrews on a 65-yard scoring play in the third quarter to give the Marauders a 21-7 lead.
Quarterback Sam Keaulii responded with a 64-yard TD strike to Lono Manners for Waianae (2-2). But Waipahu (2-2) drew away on a 1-yard scoring plunge by Iakopo Leota in the fourth quarter.
