Dancers from the Halla Huhm Dance Studio perform on a float
in the Aloha Festivals' 52nd Floral Parade, which started at Ala
Moana Park this morning and ended in Waikiki. The float, by
the Honolulu Korean Junior Chamber, won the Grand Sweepstakes
Award and included marchers from Hawaii Nongak Farm Dancers.
The parade marshal was Pat Nakama Bacon, the daughter of
Hawaiian scholar Mary Kawena Pukui. The parade is one of
about 300 Aloha Festivals events which will take place statewide
through Sept. 19 on Oahu, and Oct. 24 on the neighbor islands.
