Pacific Wings signs deal with Island Air

Pacific Wings, a small commuter airline that serves parts of Maui and Molokai, has signed a code-sharing deal with Island Air, an affiliate company to Aloha Airlines.

The deal connects Pacific Wings flights with Island Air's, boosts Pacific Wings' service and allows it to use Aloha's "AQ" code in ticketing.

Pacific Wings this week began new services, starting with the first nonstop link between Honolulu and Hana, Maui. It is flying two flights a day on the route. It also offers daily flights to Kalaupapa, Molokai, from Honolulu, Kahului and the main Molokai airport.

Island Air said it is reducing its own service at Hana and Kalaupapa. Some travelers booking through Island Air to the Molokai and Maui destinations will be placed on Pacific Wings flights.
