First Christian Church

The Rev. Steven Kindle will preach and lead the 10:45 a.m. worship service tomorrow. A fellowship potluck luncheon will follow. An official meeting of the congregation will be held Sept. 5 following the worship service to hear the search committee's recommendation on calling a new minister. The church board will vote on the recommendation.

Dan Chun, president and co-founder of Hawaiian Island Ministries, Rosyln Cattraccia and Beebe Freitas will discuss a variety of worship topics on the "Hawaiian Islands Ministries Radio Magazine," 1-2 p.m. Tuesday on KAIM Radio, AM 870. Pam Chun, vice president and co-founder of Hawaiian Island Ministries, is host of the weekly program.

St. George's Episcopal Church

St. George's "Haole" barbecue, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sept. 6. The Southern-style barbeque will feature barbecue pork shoulder, chicken, pork ribs, cole slaw, baked beans, "sweet tea," lemonade, pecan pie and cobbler. Includes activities for children. Cost is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 5-10. A family price is available for $25 for two adult-price tickets and any children under 10. Tickets must be purchased by Tuesday. T-shirts available.
