Tapa

On display at Salon5 will be alien
art on tapa by M. Takemoto

A night out
in Nu‘uanu

Nu'uanu Nights returns to downtown Honolulu, with an arty block party featuring music, food, drink and performances from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday.

Featured this time will be Cabaret Tiki's "Bikini Brief Theatre," with bite-size original plays and spontaneous performances based on audience input. Improvisation troupe Loose Screws will also dish out "Instant Comedy."

Former members of the Pagan Babies will also have people dancing in the street.

There will be food for sale from Indigo and Havana Cabana, as well as dessert treats from Tropilicious.

Also, stop into Salon5 for an exhibition of art by M. Takemoto, Saint Marko, Wilma Nakamura, Rich Richardson and Buck Silva. The art gallery, often mistaken for a hair salon, gets into the party mood by hosting hair dressing by David Obdrzalek.

Admission's free.
