One movie begins its Oahu run tomorrow:
Deep Blue Sea
A Renny Harlin-directed thriller about a group of marine researchers menaced by genetically altered sharks.
Three movies open on Friday:
Blair Witch Project
Spooky-looking pseudo-documentary about a mysterious local legend. Supposedly uses footage shot by film students who were never heard from again and that explains their terrifying experience and disappearance.
John Sayles' new movie follows a down-on-her-luck lounge singer (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) and her teen-age daughter to a small Alaska town where all the inhabitants are in a state of limbo -- caught by circumstances.
Julia Roberts plays a woman who never can quite make it all the way down the aisle, which piques the interest of headline-hungry reporter Richard Gere, who investigates and is hooked.
There will be sneak previews of one movie on Sunday
The Iron Giant
An animated feature about the friendship between a small boy and a giant metal machine that falls to Earth from outer space.
