UH, Navy both
talking about weather

As we hunker down for Hawaii's hurricane season, you can't have too much information about the weather.

Although the University of Hawaii's weather site at http://www.hawaii.edu/News/weather.html has been a steady and reliable indicator, you might want a second opinion.

The Navy runs a great weather page at http://www.npmoc.navy.mil, home of the Naval Pacific Meteorological and Oceanography Center.

The Navy includes an easy-to-figure-out map of Oahu showing where it is raining and also the surf heights along the coastlines. The page features quick weather summaries and a four-day prediction.

"Home on the Web" is a weekly Friday feature of the Star-Bulletin.
