Transfer fulfills dream
for KPMG exec

Robert Gagliano says he's fulfilled a dream by accepting the offer of his employer, accounting firm KPMG, to oversee operations at the Honolulu office.

"I've been coming to Hawaii for 30 years and I wanted to live here. It's a dream come true," said Gagliano, who moved here from California.

The Honolulu office of KPMG, formerly KPMG Peat Marwick, has about 160 employees.

Gagliano has 32 years of accounting experience with KPMG, including eight years as managing partner of the Long Beach, Calif., office.

He was a board member for the Long Beach Symphony Association and on the directors executive committee for the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce. He recently was selected as a board member for the Child & Family Service in Honolulu.

Gagliano and his wife, Linda, reside in Lanikai. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Southern California.
