From 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, there will be live country music, country line-dance demonstrations and lessons, games and eating contests.
Sunday is "Harley Day," celebrating Harley-Davidson's 96th anniversary, noon to 5 p.m., with live rock music, a Pacific Harley-Davidson bike and fashion show, games, food booths, a beer garden, hula hoop contests and a Miss Pacific Harley-Davidson Pageant. Contestants from the second Statewide Country Music Karaoke Championship perform 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Admission to all events is free and discounted parking is available at the center garage. Call 922-2299.
Her award will be presented in conjunction with a one-person exhibition to be displayed with the 50th annual "Artists of Hawai'i 2000" exhibition beginning September 2000.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Iijima studied art at Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif., Honolulu Community College and San Francisco Art Institute.
She is best known for her photography and mixed-media constructions dealing with themes of family, memory, identity and mortality.
In 1994, her show "ReViewing Paradise: The Ethnic Response in Contemporary Photography from Hawaii" toured the mainland.
Recipients of the Cox award must be former or current Hawaii residents, selected on the basis of demonstrated talent and promise, with first consideration given to young or emerging artists.
Past recipients of the award, presented every other year, were Dorothy Faison, Michael G.B. Tom, Laura Smith, Shigeru Miyamoto and Hanae Uechi Mills.
