Pacific Nissan and Pacific Oldsmobile GMC Volkswagen have been renamed Tony Nissan and Tony Oldsmobile GMC Volkswagen, formally becoming part of the Tony Group, one of the largest automobile dealerships in Hawaii.

The Tony Group, which entered the local automobile market with Tony Honda in 1977, brought its two other dealerships into the group to create a family of businesses with a recognized name, said Stan Masamitsu, Tony Group president. Tony Oldsmobile GMC Volkswagen and Tony Honda are next door to each other on Kamehameha Highway in Pearlridge. Tony Nissan has a dealership in that area and another on Farrington Highway in Waipahu. The group also has an Internet site (www.tonygroup.com) featuring its inventory and prices of new and used cars and details of the business.

The business was founded in Japan in 1967 by Tony Masamitsu.
