Hula by kumu hula William "Sonny" Ching and a classical oratorio by Franz Joseph Haydn will combine in a performance that will headline a celebration and study of music at the Hawaii International Choral Festival that starts Sunday and continues through June 26. Choirs host music fest
Ching's Halau Na Mamo 'O Pu'uanahulu will dance to Haydn's chorale "The Creation," performed by the Oahu Choral Society, the Festival Chorus and Orchestra and soloists. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. June 26 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.
Tickets for "The Creation" are $10 to $35 and are available at the Blaisdell Box Office and Ticket Plus outlets. Charge by phone: 526-4400.
Singers who want to participate in the choral performances and attend festival events may register for $55 by calling Joseph McAlister at 595-0327. Cost for individual lectures and classes is $5 at the door.
