Before you set off for the PetWalk at Kapiolani Park on Sunday, sponsored by the Hawaiian Humane Society, check out the Pet Resources page maintained by Hawaii Online at http://www.creatures.com/HI.html.

There you'll find a briefing on the humane societies for Oahu, Maui and Kauai, plus a review of Hawaii's quarantine laws.

There also are links to dog and cat rescue centers across the country, and guides on dog and cat breeds.
