Banking on business
development

James Polk will be responsible for business development and portfolio management at Bank of Hawaii's corporate national division.

He will provide account management services to local and national companies involved in ad-based media and broadcasting industries.

"It's an exciting time in this business," Polk said.

"Hardly a day goes by without the announcement of some merger or acquisition within the publishing and broadcasting sectors."

He has more than 10 years in banking and most recently was assistant vice president of First Hawaiian Bank's media finance division. He also worked eight years in various management, loan administration and commercial lending positions with First Hawaiian Bank.

Polk earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Michigan. He has been an instructor for the American Institute of Banking, most recently teaching a course on commercial lending.
