Dr. Sungyul Kim will provide leadership to all clinical areas, including physician and patient services, for the 100-bed Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific and its 12 outpatient clinics. Leading the way
at Rehab Hospital"Rehab Hospital is the biggest provider to people with a disability," Kim said. "There is an increased future need because Hawaii's (population is) aging and people are living longer."
He has more than 20 years of physiatry experience and most recently served as associate chief, department of rehabilitation medicine, at Boston Medical Center. He also was medical director for the New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center and Boston Medical Center for Rehabilitation.
Each year, Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific treats more than 1,500 inpatients, recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic problems, amputation and various degenerative diseases. More than 5,000 outpatients are served through clinics.
