Race distance: 299.72 miles, 236 laps.
Last year: Alex Zanardi took the lead with a very fast final pit stop and held off Michael Andretti by 0.573-seconds.
Last race: Juan Montoya, the 23-year-old driver from Colombia, took the Rio 200 to become the first CART rookie to win three consecutive races. Montoya leads the standings after victories in Long Beach, Calif., Nazareth, Pa., and Rio de Janeiro.
Fast facts: Montoya is looking to become just the third driver in 21 seasons to win four consecutive CART races. Al Unser Jr., in 1990, and Zanardi, last year, have done it . . . Eight drivers have won three consecutive races a total of 11 times . . . Honda-powered cars have won eight of the last 11 events. . . . Montoya leads the standings over Dario Franchitti, 66-51.
