Robert Kamemoto has been promoted to vice president and assistant manager of the corporate banking division at Central Pacific Bank.

"We're the main commercial lending unit of the bank and we've been able to grow from $30 million (loan portfolio) in 1980 to over a half billion dollars in 1999," Kamemoto said. "Our basic philosophy is one of relationship banking. We want to be a trusted financial adviser."

Kamemoto joined Central Pacific Bank in 1980 and most recently was a vice president. He also worked five years in management positions at Finance Factors.

He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii. He also was an honor student at the Pacific Coast Banking School.
