Ryan Yamauchi represents the collective voice of about 3,500 Honolulu Realtors in dealings with government officials. Bridging the gap between
Realtors, governmentHe has been working with city officials to streamline the process for the city's Land Use Ordinance. The final version is now before the Honolulu City Council. The 500-page Land Use Ordinance has been reorganized and now includes a "master use" table which summarizes what is allowed in zoning districts.
"Our aim is to bridge the gap between the governmental process and the real estate industry so that when they change laws the real estate industry is consulted," Yamauchi said.
He worked two years as a legislative committee clerk for state Sen. Randy Iwase, and one year ago formed Synapse Legislative Services, a company providing lobbying services. Yamauchi is a Punahou High School graduate who in 1995 earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
