Stanley MPSF
Player of Week

Hawaii sophomore Clay Stanley was named Player of the Week by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation after his 50-kill performance in last Saturday's upset of UCLA.

Stanley broke the three-year-old UH record of 47 kills set by All-American Yuval Katz in the 1996 NCAA championship match against the Bruins.

The Rainbows (18-9) jumped into the No. 4 spot in this week's AVCA Coaches' Top 15, up four places from last week. Brigham Young remained the unanimous No. 1.

Long Beach State remained at No. 2 while IUPU-Ft. Wayne jumped from sixth to third after winning the MIVA championship to advance to next week's final four at UCLA.
