Kalaheo clinches OIA East

Brandy Richardson scored 12 of her game-high 17 points in the first half and Kalaheo (8-0) clinched its second straight Oahu Interscholastic Association East girls' basketball title with a 54-30 win over Kalani (4-4) last night.

It was the 25th consecutive East division win for the Mustangs, who led 29-8 at halftime. The Falcons were led by Ashli Kamakawiwoole's 14 points.

Aiea over Pearl City

Kyle Correa struck out seven in tossing a six-hit shutout to help host Aiea beat Pearl City, 6-0, and take sole possession of first place by a half-game in the Oahu Interscholastic Association baseball race yesterday.

Michael Kim had four hits for Na Alii (6-1), including a two-run double in the fourth inning. The Chargers fell to 5-2.
