Windward schools making
a mark on the Internet

Oahu's Windward school district is turning into something of a Web factory, as school after school produces top-flight Internet sites.

The latest is the Mars Madness site from Enchanted Lake Elementary School at http://tqjunior.advanced.org/5579/.

"I didn't only learn about Web publishing, but also about problem solving, working together, patience and managing my time," wrote 9-year old Ryan Kido, one of six student scientists and computer experts who put together the creative and informative pages on the planet Mars.

To see how the entire school is using the Internet go to http://www.k12.hi.us/~elake/aloha.html.

"Home on the Web" is a weekly Friday feature of the Star-Bulletin.
