UH’s Miladinovic cited

University of Hawaii sophomore middle blocker Dejan Miladinovic was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's Player of the Week for his role in two Rainbow volleyball victories last week.

Miladinovic had a combined 34 kills and hit. 527 as Hawaii defeated Pacific twice. He also had four aces and 22 blocks to help the Rainbows clinch a berth in the upcoming MPSF Tournament.

THREE ISLE SURFERS ADVANCE: Shane Dorian, who won last week's Rip Curl Pro meet, and fellow Hawaii surfers Sunny Garcia and Kalani Robb advanced to the fourth round of the Coca Cola Classic at Manly Beach, New South Wales, Australia, by winning their heats yesterday.

Ross Williams of Hawaii lost his third-round heat and was eliminated.

PAC WEST TENNIS: Hawaii's four NCAA Division II schools began competing today for the Pacific West-Hawaii Division men's and women's tennis championships at the Brigham Young-Hawaii courts.

Doing battle are Chaminade, Hawaii-Hilo, Hawaii Pacific and the host Seasiders. Play continues through Saturday.

The BYUH women's team is 28-0 and ranked No. 2 nationally. Hawaii Pacific is ranked 18th.

The Seasider men's team is ranked 11th, HPU is 12th and UH-Hilo 19th.
