After 16 years away from Hawaii, Joseph Webber returns to take the general manager's job for the Crown Pacific Corp. branch at Mililani Technology Park. Crown Pacific is a large international mover, based in Hong Kong, with offices in 28 countries.

"We also do specialty warehousing and record storage, like the data tapes for high-technology companies which need special handling," Webber said.

"We also moved the McDonnell Douglas 80 nose cones from China, where they are made, to the West Coast for assembly."

Webber grew up in Kailua and has 25 years in the transportation business. He worked on Oahu and Maui and was president of the Moving and Storage Association of Hawaii in 1982.

After eight years in Seattle, he joined Crown Pacific in 1993 and managed all company services for Laos, Cambodia and Thailand during the last six years.

He also was a governor and treasurer of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand.
