Counseling businesses
for Oahu SBDC

Certified Public Accountant Constance A. Cate will provide individual counseling and training programs for established businesses as well as startups in the Leeward, Central, North Shore and Waianae areas of Oahu.

"This is the perfect niche for me," Cate said. "I can do individual counseling that they (businesses) can't afford if they had to pay for CPA services by the hour."

Cate has experience in Grand Rapids, Mich., as a senior business counselor with the Small Business Development Center Network. She came to Hawaii in 1968 and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from University of Hawaii at Hilo and a master's in business from Grand Valley State University's Seidman School of Business in Michigan. On the Big Island, Cate worked four years with small-business clients while with Herbert Nakayama C.P.A, a Hilo accounting firm. She also owned and operated Secretarial Services, a medical billing service company.
