Bows finally

win on roadPUEBLO, Colo. -- Hawaii's Rainbows recorded their first 1999 road win yesterday, and they did it the hard way, blowing a late lead, then rallying for the victory.
A five-run, ninth inning provided enough runs for a 15-13 victory over the Air Force Academy in the opener of a three-game Western Athletic Conference series.
The game was moved to Runyon Field in Pueblo because Falcon Field on the AFA campus is covered with snow. Today's game also will be played there.
The Rainbows held a 10-8 lead entering the bottom of the eighth inning only to have the Falcons (16-18 overall, 2-6 WAC) score five runs, four of them unearned.
In the top of the ninth, Jamie Aloy's two-run single to center put Hawaii (24-13, 6-10) ahead, 14-13. Michael Dartt scored the final run on a fielder's choice grounder.
Wakon Childers earned the win by getting the final out in the eighth and pitching a scoreless ninth.
