A suicide squeeze bunt by Austen Ito in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Matthew Higa to cap a nine-run rally and give Damien a stunning 13-12 victory over Punahou in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game played yesterday at Ala Wai Field.

The Monarchs (1-1) trailed the Buffanblu (0-2), 12-4, going into the bottom of the fifth. Stean Abe's two-run homer in the fifth narrowed the margin to 12-6 and Damien exploded for six runs to tie it in the sixth.

Higa, the fourth Monarch pitcher, held Punahou scoreless in the seventh, setting up Ito's dramatic game-winning hit.
