About the Lions: LMU saw its seven-match winning streak snapped last week at No. 1 Long Beach State in four games. The match last three hours. Tim Farmer led the Lions against the Beach with 29 kills. Reid Priddy added 27 kills and Corin Bemas 19 kills and 9 blocks. The Lions rebounded last Friday with a 90-minute win over Cal State Northridge in three. Farmer (14 kills) and Priddy (14 kills) led a balanced attack. Priddy had six of the Lions' 11 aces against the Matadors ... Setter Stephen Dunne leads the MPSF with a 19.09 assist average ... LMU leads the MPSF in kill average (22.04 kpg) and assist average (20.65).

About the Rainbows: Hawaii swept Rutgers-Newark last week in two nonconference matches. Coach Mike Wilton used two different passing formations against the Scarlet Raiders with mixed results and possibly will use the two different lineups this week ... In the second match, middle Andre Breuer hit .783 ... Middle Dejan Miladinovic had a combined 13 blocks in the two matches ... Breuer needs one more solo block to tie Pono Maa for 10th on the Rainbow career list. He currently has 43 solos and 231 block assists, seventh on the all-time list ... Miladinovic has 277 total blocks and needs six to tie Brian Poppinga for seventh place. He also needs just one service ace to tie Aaron Wilton for No. 10 on the career list at 50 ... Last Friday, senior setter Mason Kuo recorded his 2,001st assist. He is only the sixth Rainbow setter to reach the 2,000-assist mark and needs 29 to tie John Ribarich for fifth place.
