"This new opportunity takes me back into the retail side of banking, which is something that I have always enjoyed," Shimizu said.
"City Bank is implementing some new and innovative things and I am excited to be a part of the team making it happen."
She has nearly 24 years of banking experience and most recently was senior vice president and manager of the project office at Bank of Hawaii.
Shimizu earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii. She also has completed studies at the Bank Administration Institute, with honors.
City Bank is a principal subsidiary of CB Bancshares Inc., a bank holding company.
