A top-ranking member of the Jamaican police force will be the speaker at the annual Hawaii Prayer Breakfast, April 1 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. Jamaican cop speaks
at prayer breakfastDeputy Superintendent Ivan Brown continued on the Caribbean island force despite a crippling attack by an escaped convict 24 years ago. His experience led the department to re-evaluate its stand against employing disabled police officers.

Music, water sports and team competition, food and a program of spiritual testimony are on the "Spring Break '99" program Monday at Ala Moana Beach Park.
The beach party for teen-agers, from 1 to 7 p.m., will be sponsored by Hawaii Youth for Christ. The events will center around the ocean-side platform in the middle of the park.
Teams from several island high schools will compete at tug-of-war, water balloon fights and sports events. The organization's executive director, Kelii Akina, will speak.
