at Bank of Hawaii

Gayle P. Ishima takes charge of the residential lending division at Bank of Hawaii. Last year, the bank financed $1.06 billion in residential loans to lead Hawaii lenders for the third consecutive year.

"This is the best the company has done," Ishima said. "We couldn't have done it without a great sales staff, our customers and our business partners (escrow firms, appraisers and others)."

She has 13 years in lending and joined Bank of Hawaii in 1994 as vice president and manager of loan operations. In 1997, she added the loan servicing department to her responsibilities.

Ishima also was president of Home Financial Services and senior vice president at Honfed Bank.

She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Willamette University in Salem, Ore., and is a certified public accountant.

Ishima is a board director for Mortgage Lenders of Hawaii and board treasurer for Self-Help Housing Corp. of Hawaii.
