Hawaii Public Television is asking for pledges today through March 14, when it showcases some of the best of public television.

Following are some of the programming highlights. Program times may vary slightly during the live broadcast:

March 5

bullet "Great Performances: Andrew Lloyd Webber 50th Birthday Celebration" -- The composer of "Cats," "Phantom of the Opera," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Evita," "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Sunset Boulevard" is honored, 7:15 p.m.

bullet "Squirrel Nut Zippers Live" -- The seven-member band puts swing into pledge week, 9:15 p.m.

March 6

bullet "Monica Mancini ... On Record" -- The daughter of Henry Mancini sings fresh versions of her father's hits, including "Moon River," "The Days of Wine and Roses" and "Charade," 6 p.m.

bullet "Divas Live" -- Maria Carey, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Shania Twain and Aretha Franklin perform current and classic hits, 7:30 p.m.

bullet "Bee Gees: One Night Only" -- The brother trio performs their biggest hits in a concert taped in 1997 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, 9 p.m.

March 7

bullet "Miss Patti Page: The Singing Rage," 6 p.m., KHET/PBS. The life of the legendary singer who released more than 100 albums and 160 singles during the '50s and early '60s. Her hits included "Doggie in the Window," "Tennessee Waltz" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?"

bullet "John Denver: Let This Be a Voice" -- This program was filmed months before the plane crash that took the singer's life. He traces some of the wilderness experiences that gave spirit to his music, 7:30 p.m.

bullet "George Gershwin 'S Wonderful" -- An international cast of performers, including Broadway star Maureen McGovern and violinist Joshua Bell, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the composer's birth, 9 p.m.

March 10

bullet "Feet of Flames" -- Michael Flatley's final performance of "Lord of the Dance," is an electrifying Irish dance display, 7 p.m.

March 12

bullet "Great Performances: CATS" -- Grizabella the Glamour Cat, Rum Tug Tugger, Old Deuteronomy and the other Jellicle Cats are back, 7 p.m.

March 13

bullet "John Tesh: One World" -- The musician travels around the world to create an eclectic performance that captures the styles of Native American to Spanish to Italian music, 7:30 p.m.

March 14

bullet "Nature: Extraordinary Dogs" -- See examples of canine courage, loyalty, and unconditional love for their owners, 6 p.m.

bullet "Nature: Extraordinary Cats" -- Explore the qualities that make this mysterious creature the most popular pet in America, 7:15 p.m.

bullet "Great Performances: Pavarotti and Friends" -- The Spice Girls, Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder, Jon Bon Jovi, Natalie Cole, Vanessa Williams and others join the famous tenor in a benefit concert for the children of Liberia, 8:30 p.m.
