Returning to Maui Marriott as GM

Stan Engeldorf, who began his career with Marriott Resort as a baker's helper, takes over the top management job at the Maui Marriott Resort. He returns to the Maui resort where he was resident manager 10 years ago.

The Maui Marriott plans a major remodeling project starting in April. "Beginning in 2001, the Maui Marriott will rival any hotel in Maui," Engeldorf said.

He has been been with Marriott for 23 years. This includes more than 10 years as a general manager, most recently at the Atlanta Airport Marriott.

His other assignments were at Hilton Head Island, S.C.; Vail, Colo.; and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

His career also has included sales and marketing, with director of marketing positions in Georgia and Florida. He has received company awards as a resident manager and general manager.
