AIEA, PEARL CITY WIN BIG: Chad Ihara and Randy Oyama homered in Aiea's 21-9 romp over Waialae and Darren Akiyama's grand slam helped Pearl City drub Wahiawa, 17-7, in Oahu Senior AJA baseball games last night.
At Ala Wai Field, Ihara, Oyama and Eric Tanigawa had three hits apiece for Aiea, which broke the game wide open with a 12-run barrage in the third inning.
At Hans L'Orange Park, Glen Kamihara and Kyle Hirayama also homered for Pearl City.
SURFERS' AUCTION: The Oahu Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation will conduct a benefit auction at 7 p.m. Saturday at Shipley's Ale House in Manoa Market Place, with surfboards from Diffenderfer, Blue Hawaii and Local Motion, a Honda outboard engine, a Sprint kayak, art work from Walfrido and an autographed Semisonic guitar among the items on the block.
There will be live music, and food and drink booths.
