Ambrose A. Augustin, 86, of Hilo, a veteran of World War II and a retired self-employed barber, died last Tuesday in Hilo Hospital. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by nephew Teodorico and nine great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Hilo United Methodist Church. Call after 8:30 a.m. Burial: Hawaii Veteran Cemetery No. 2. Caroline R. Ballenti, 72, of Waianae, a retired dry-cleaning presser,, died Feb. 14 in Honolulu. She was Born in Honolulu. She is survived by daughters Esther and Lynette; brothers John and Glen Aguiar; sisters Angeline Calassa, Frances Raquedan and Mildred Cataluna, and three grandchildren. Services: 7 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Hearts Church, Waianae. Call after 6 p.m. Casual attire.

Timothy Calderon, 58, of Waipahu, a city park maintenance worker, died Feb. 11 in Waianae. He was born in Makaweli, Kauai. He is survived by brother Raymond and sisters Trinidad Netherland, Carmen Roth, Doris Brunner and Alice Hamm. Services: 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 1525 Waimano Home Road, Pearl City. Call after 6 p.m. Cremation to follow. No flowers.

Conrad H. Clason, 79, of Pepeekeo, Hawaii, a U.S. Navy retiree, died Thursday in Veterans Affairs Center for the Aging, Oahu. He was born in New York. He is survived by wife Gloria; daughters Gema Newman and Michelle Ting, and five grandchildren. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Thursday at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

Max F. Fuertes, 89, of Honolulu, died Friday at home. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Azucena; sons Gilbert, Wayne, Dennis and Mark; daughter Cynthia Jensen; sister Maria Fune, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sister Mary Rose Gordon, 85, of Honolulu, a high school teacher, principal, librarian, school accountant and a bookkeeper for clergy in Rome, died Friday in Straub Hospital. She was born in Canada. She is survived by brothers Hubert and the Rev. George Gordon, and sisters Sister Mary Gordon, Joan Gordon and Kathy Stuart. Mass: 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Sacred Hearts Academy Chapel. Call after 8:30 a.m. Burial: Hawaiian Memorial Park.

Ichigi Hashimoto, 82, of Papaaloa, Hawaii, a retired electrician at Laupahoehoe Sugar Co., died Saturday at home. He was born in Papaaloa. He is survived by son Stanley; daughters Lillian and Jean Hashimoto and Judy Hamasaki, and two grandchildren. Service over the ashes: 4 p.m. Thursday at Dodo Mortuary. Ushi Higa, 98, of Wailuku died Saturday in Maui Memorial Hospital. She was born on Okinawa. She is survived by sons Takeo, Seigi and George; daughters Fumiko Miyahira, Yoshiko “Judy” Napihaa and Hiroko “Eleanor” Fukuda; sister Kana Higa, 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Robert M. Hirayama, 90, of Lanai City died Feb. 13 in Straub Hospital. He was born in Paauhau, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Sadako; sons Robert M. Jr., Harley H. and Claude S.; daughter Jeraldine N. Iba; brothers Naoto and Hideo, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services: 6 p.m. Thursday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Norman N. Ishii, 74, of Mililani, a retired employee of Hawaiian Magazine Distribution, died Thursday in Straub Hospital. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Jean T.; son Darryl; daughter Gayle R. Buckwalter; brothers George S. and Henry K.; sister Janet H. Goto, and four grandchildren. Edward K. Ke-a, 68, of Waianae, a retired truck driver, died Wednesday in Kuakini Hospital. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Mary; sons Edward K. William S. “Billy Boogie Derego” Lidstone, 73, of Kaneohe, died Wednesday in Kaneohe. He was born in San Francisco. Incorrect information was provided for an obituary published yesterday.

Howard K. Nakanishi, 82, of Honolulu, a retired Ilikai Hotel purchasing agent, died Friday at home. He was born in Olaa, Hawaii. He is survived by sons Harlan K. and Barry S.; daughters Esther K. Evelyn C. Perreira, 75, of Hilo, Hawaii, a retired maintenance worker for an accounting firm, died Friday at home. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by husband Robert W. “Bob”; son Robert Jr.; daughters Jenifer Davis and Colette Colby; brother David Carvalho; sisters Mary Alves, Isabella Estrella, Angeline Kim and Loretta Wallace, seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
