Hawaiian Building Maintenance Co. is looking to expand on the neighbor islands using Karl H. Fujii as comptroller and in the newly created position of director of business development.

"We are on the Big Island, Maui and Kauai and we want to expand that practice," Fujii said. "The company has a proven reputation of finding the latest engineering technologies and methods that give our customers increased services and methods for reducing their operating costs."

He has nine years in financial management and recently was business assurance manager at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, formerly Coopers & Lybrand LLP. His duties included developing business with Japanese. Fujii was born in Kamuela on the Big Island and earned a bachelor's in business administration from University of Hawaii. He is assistant treasurer for the University of Hawaii Alumni Association and a member of several pro accountant organizations.
