the boys' state semifinalWAILUKU -- Mililani's perfect season came to a dramatic end last night as the top-seeded Trojans fell to Oahu Interscholastic Association rival Moanalua in an Outrigger Hotels/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Boys' State Soccer Tournament game decided in a penalty-kick shoot-out.
The Menehunes outscored the Trojans, 4-2, at War Memorial Stadium to hand Mililani its first defeat of the year. Moanalua and Mililani had played to a scoreless tie during the regular season.
The victory puts Moanalua (11-3-1) in today's 5:30 p.m. semifinal against Pearl City (12-2). The Chargers upset fourth-seeded Waiakea, 4-2, yesterday.
In other quarterfinal games yesterday, No. 2 seed Punahou edged Hilo, 2-1, and third-seeded Baldwin shutout Castle, 2-0.
In a consolation game, Iolani outlasted Waimea, 4-3.
Moanalua 1, Mililani 0 (PK): The teams were in a scoreless deadlock after two overtimes. In the shootout, Steven Birgado, Ian Yoneshige, Kenji Treschuk and Liko Kruse all were successful against Mililani goalie Andrew Brown, who was unscored upon in 12 previous matches.Penalty kicks: Moanalua 4, Mililani 2

Punahou 2, Hilo 1: Michael Semenza scored on a penalty kick in the 68th minute to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Buffanblu (11-1-2) over the Vikings (12-4-1).

Pearl City 4, Waiakea 2: Kristopher Knight scored twice for the Chargers (12-2) in surprising the Warriors (12-3-1).
Zach Sharrett scored both of Waiakea's goals. Robert Shinn broke a 2-2 tie to give Pearl City the lead for good in the 65th minute.
