Entertainer to lead
Aloha Festivals

Entertainer and businessman Kimo Keawe will lead this year's Aloha Festivals, which include some 300 events on six islands over a two-month period.

"One of our biggest goals is to increase the number of floral floats for the floral parade and to increase the number of corporate sponsors and their involvement," Keawe said.

The floral parade on Sept. 11 will be broadcast by CBS on Thanksgiving day, as part of a roundup of several parades.

Keawe is chief executive officer of Kimo Keawe Television Presentation Inc., which produces documentaries, commercials and specials. He also is a commentator who co-hosts the telecast of the Liliuokalani Keiki Hula competition. Keawe was a former radio personality and program director on KCCN. He has worked as a professional wrestler, chef and Hawaiian studies teacher.
